Paradise Pier, Disneyland, California

Paradise Pier is a themed "land" at Disney's California Adventure Park, Disneyland's sister park. Its appearance is based on that of real California boardwalks. Despite its name and the presence of a nearby manmade lake, Paradise Pier is not actually a pier, but merely a waterside area of the park. The roller coaster California Screamin' sprawls across much of it, with various other attractions and forms of entertainment scattered around it.

Here is an image taken during our visit last 2008.

I lived in California for over 50 years but rarely went to Disneyland. Of course, I went when it opened. That was exciting for me as a kid. I remember going down to the Pike in Long Beach when I was in elementary school. It was an exciting place as well with all kinds of things to explore. In this day and age I am sure you wouldn't let a kid run around in a place like that unsupervised. But back then it was a different time. - Margy
