March First

march v. To proceed directly and purposefully. To progress
steadily onward; advance. To be arranged in an orderly fashion
that suggests steady, rhythmical progression.

Giving advice is easy. Giving really good advice is harder.
Providing an example is hardest but is usually the most effective
way of influencing both youth and adults. After all, adults are
simply older youths who were influenced by someone's example
early in life.

Our walk or march through life is the greatest teacher that we
will provide for others. Even Paul in the Bible said,
"Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."
(1 Cor 11:1 NIV)

Today is the beginning of the month of March.

Perhaps today should also be the beginning of a new walk.
A walk of direction and purpose. A walk worthy to follow.

March first.

Then advise.

Psalm 32:1-5 NASB

How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered!

How blessed is the man to whom the
LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit!

When I kept silent about my sin,
my body wasted away
Through my groaning all day long.

For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was drained away as with
the fever heat of summer. Selah.

I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I did not hide;
I said, "I will confess my transgressions
to the LORD";
And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.

Wait on the LORD

You, LORD, are the light
that keeps me safe.

A Life Pleasing to God

Wait on the LORD NLT

The LORD is my light and my salvation--
so why should I be afraid?

The LORD protects me from danger--
so why should I tremble?

Teach me how to live, O LORD.
Lead me along the path of honesty,
for my enemies are waiting for me to fall.

Do not let me fall into their hands.
For they accuse me of things I've never done
and breathe out violence against me.

Yet I am confident that I will see the LORD's goodness
while I am here in the land of the living.

Wait patiently for the LORD.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.

Wait on the LORD (NASB)

The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the defense of my life;
Whom shall I dread?

Teach me Your way, O LORD,
And lead me in a level path
Because of my foes.

Do not deliver me over to
the desire of my adversaries,
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.

I would have despaired unless I had believed
that I would see the goodness of the LORD
In the land of the living.

Wait for the LORD;

Yes, wait for the LORD.

The Bread of Life

"I Am The Bread of Life" Jesus replied: I am the bread that gives life! No one who comes to me will ever be hungry. No one who has faith in me will ever be thirsty.
I have told you already that you have seen me and still do not have faith in me. Everything and everyone that the Father has given me will come to me, and I won't turn any of them away.

I didn't come from heaven to do what I want! I came to do what the Father wants me to do. He sent me, and he wants to make certain that none of the ones he has given me will be lost. Instead, he wants me to raise them to life on the last day.

My Father wants everyone who sees the Son to have faith in him and to have eternal life. Then I will raise them to life on the last day.

Unfair

"Life is so unfair!"I hear people making this statement quite often. In justice,misfortune, or good fortune can be perceived as occurring through random chance - some just have it easy and some have it rough.
It can appear to the purely logical mind that there is no rhyme or reason why this is so. The problem with the logical mind is that it is not actually so logical or smart. We still can't create the simplest grasshopper or even a blade of grass.
Even with all of our scientific advances, the divorce rate among the Ph.D. is no lower than that among the illiterate.We know more about a terrorist in a cave than we do our next-door neighbor. Our understanding and our abilities are simply very limited.
Our understanding in the grand scheme of things is like George.No, not that George, my two-year-old son George.When you start counseling, you get to see the inner world and inner reasons. You soon see that whether it is generational,environmental, or the choices we make, things do have a reason.
We may not be able to see the complete picture, but there is a reason for the way things are. The more involved you get, the more of that you see.
Stuff, good or bad, has a reason.
One day I may be able to explain it all to you.
As soon as I can make a blade of grass and a grasshopper.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

The Bread of Life

"I Am The Bread of Life" Jesus said, "I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever. I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen me in action, you don't really believe me. Every person the Father gives me eventually comes running to me. And once that person is with me, I hold on and don't let go. I came down from heaven not to follow my own whim but to accomplish the will of the One who sent me.

This, in a nutshell, is that will: that everything handed over to me by the Father be completed--not a single detail missed--and at the wrap-up of time I have everything and everyone put together, upright and whole.

This is what my Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time."

John 6:35-40

Freedom from sin... walking in the light
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Psalm 72: 1-2, 10, 12-13
R: Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.
1 O God, with your judgment endow the king, and with your justice, the king's son; 2 he shall govern your people with justice and your afflicted ones with judgment. (R) 10 The kings of Tarshish and the Isles shall offer gifts; the kings of Arabia and Seba shall bring tribute. (R) 12 For he shall rescue the poor when he cries out, and the afflicted when he has no one to help him. 13 He shall have pity for the lowly and the poor; the lives of the poor he shall save.

Mark 6:45-52
The presence of Jesus with them in the boat ought to have been enough to give the apostles peace. However, what we have is a lesson in the way fear can lead us to make an irrational response to a given situation. The apostles have seen the power Jesus has over the natural world in the multiplication of the loaves and fish. They ought to have been free from fear in this situation but they were not. Why? They allowed fear in and it began to take over. Let this be a sobering lesson to us all.

45 Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and precede him to the other side toward Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. 46 And when he had taken leave of them, he went off to the mountain to pray. 47 When it was evening, the boat was far out on the sea and he was alone on shore. 48 Then he saw that they were tossed about while rowing, for the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them. 49 But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out. 50 They had all seen him and were terrified. But at once he spoke with them, â€Å“Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid! 51 He got into the boat with them and the wind died down. They were [completely] astounded. 52 They had not understood the incident of the loaves. On the contrary, their hearts were hardened.
my reflections

think: Fear is ultimately a destructive thing if it goes unchecked. The antidote to fear is love.

Bible Verses

1 John 4: 11-18

Fear is ultimately a destructive thing if it goes unchecked. The antidote to fear is love. As John says, "perfect love casts out all fear". This is why we should always be wary if fear arises in our lives. Where does it come from? Why is it there? Let us seek to address the fears in our lives with the truth of God's love for us. If we do this, I am 100 percent sure that we will be transformed for the better.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us. 13 This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us of his Spirit. 14 Moreover, we have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as savior of the world. 15 Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God. 16 We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him. 17 In this is love brought to perfection among us, that we have confidence on the day of judgment because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.
