Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid, Spain

I am trying to think how many times did I passed-by in this beautiful square in Madrid. The City Hall of Madrid, located in Plaza de Cibeles is a famous square in the city of Madrid, Spain. It is a neo-classical complex of marble sculptures with fountains that has become an iconic symbol in Spain's capital city.

There is a fountain located in this square, the fountain of Cibeles. It was named after Cybele (or Ceres), Roman goddess of fertility and is seen as one of Madrid's most important symbols. The Cibeles fountain depicts the goddess, sitting on a chariot pulled by two lions.  If you have good eyes, you can see the fountain at the left side of my image below.

Happy 20th Birthday Munich Airport

It is actually a belated happy birthday for Munich Airport. Last May 17, 2012 was the 20th birthday of this airport.  I  happened to be there the next day  because I accompanied a friend who picked-up some visitors  coming from the United States.

The airport was so busy that day because tourists from around the world are coming not only for visit but also to witness the final games of the Europe Football League held at  Allianz  Stadium on May 12, 2012. Chelsea London won against FC Bayern Munich.  The football team from London won various trophies and awards after  a lot of winnings including  the European Football League.

May 17, 2012 marked the 20th  building anniversary of Munich airport.

Munich International Airport is located around 28 km away from Munich City. It is the hub for Lufthansa and Star Alliance partner airlines. The airport is named after Franz Josef Strauß, who played a prominent, albeit sometimes controversial role in politics of the Federal Republic of Germany from the 1950s until his death in 1988.

This airport is where I always fly when travelling in Europe and other continents of the world.

Things I love in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the dream destination of millions of tourists worldwide. Do you think I am lucky enough to spend a two months vacation in the "World's Entertainment Capital"? I believed I am and I truly had a fabulous time in Las Vegas.

The amazing Fountains of Bellagio.

I love watching the Fountains of Bellagio when I was there. This is always a spectacular show for me. The choreographed water feature with performances set to light and music are truly fantastic. The show takes place every 30 minutes in the afternoons and early evenings, and every 15 minutes from 8 pm to midnight. The best thing I love, it is a free show. I hope to see it again this year.

I love gallivanting in Caesars Palace. This is one of my fave hotels where I always go roaming around. If I get hungry, there are restaurants inside. I never get bored because I can go window shopping in its Forum Shops. And yes, I love taking pictures in all of its corners.

Fremont Street Experience was great! This is one of places you need to experience when you are in Las Vegas. It is a pedestrian mall and attraction downtown in this city. If I am not mistaken, its LED display canopy is the biggest around the world. There are free shows like live bands every night in this street. I love it there!
The Fremont Street Experience with its LED canopy. I was there!
Visit to the different world class hotels. There are a lot of interesting themed hotels in Las Vegas. For example, if you want to experience Luxor in Egypt, go visit Luxor Hotel or maybe The Venetian hotel to feel the atmosphere of Venice, Italy. Paris Hotel will  give you the experience of  being in Paris, France.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
These are only some of the things I love during my two months vacation in Las Vegas last 2008. That time,  I boarded one of the Delta Air Lines Flights from Munich to MCCarran International Airport and vice versa.

If you are visiting Las Vegas in the future, be sure to plan it ahead. You can always find affordable accommodation that best suit your needs and budget. American Airlines also offers cheap flights there in all seasons of the year. Like what I mentioned, plan your vacation ahead and I know for sure you can  save time and money when doing it.

Cruise: What’s it all about?

Some people believe that cruise holidays are not for them - or at least that’s until they try it. It can take some persuasion to get onto a ship for a week or more, as the thought of this huge vessel becoming your bedroom, lounge, dining room, cinema and gym for a prolonged length of time can be a little overwhelming. But as the converted will say, it’s worth a try: and that’s why so many tour operators have introduced short taster cruises to try and win over the non-believers.

Taster cruises are typically one or two nights long, sailing from a UK port to nearby locations such as Paris or Brussels. Customers have the chance to alight there and spend a day exploring the city, before getting back on board for the short jaunt back to familiar shores. It’s short, sharp and sweet, but many taster cruises include a full array of sumptuous cuisine and high-octane entertainment - after all, it’s designed to offer a taste of cruising, and these are certainly the highlights.

For the more confident cruiser there are countless itineraries taking in a vast range of destinations. For instance, take Thomas Cook cruises. 2012 is shaping up to be another superb year that’s packed with varied itineraries across a range of liners, from the long-established P&O Cruises to the younger and more innovative Royal Caribbean International, which brings exciting new onboard activities into the fray with surf parks, rock climbing walls and top-notch entertainment.

A cruise lets you take in a vast range of destinations and makes the most of the journey in-between too. Where else can you wake up in a new destination every morning, and while away the time at sea by relaxing on deck, working out in the gym or dining in style? Whatever your opinion of cruise holidays, it’s certainly worth a shot.

Go Crazy in Crete

Greece has its fair share of top-notch party hotspots (Kos, Zante or Rhodes anyone?) but there’s nothing quite like a trip to Crete. Aside from the fact it’s the biggest island in Greece - giving you plenty of things to see and do should you come here for anything other than the clubs and pubs - Malia holidays are among the best in the clubbing calendar.

Not only did Malia get the star status when it became the setting for Inbetweeners: The Movie, the main strip is also one of the biggest in the Mediterranean. So regardless of what you’re here for - whether it’s rock clubs, sports bars or all-night clubs - there really is a night out for everyone. And this year, it’s hotting up to be something seriously special.

The line-up of clubbing holidays 2012 is nothing short of epic, and Malia is right in there with the best of them. It’s got the biggest names across the music industry from RnB and Hip hop to dance and house. And, like any clubbing hotspot, it’s got plenty of room for fun-filled foam parties and the inevitable 80s disco too. After all, a week without Wham! is like fish but no chips.

And then there’s the beach. The bars spill right onto this stretch of gorgeous golden sand, so you won’t have far to go for a refreshing cocktail. Here you’ve got everything from sunbeds and parasols to jet skis and pedalos. And when your appetite kicks in there’s a pretty tasty range of snacks to feast on. Mexican, Chinese, Indian, the obligatory burger and a bit of Greek cuisine too - it’s all here.

Malia is all about round-the-clock fun with like-minded company and some of the best nightlife in the Med. One thing’s for sure, it’s bound to satisfy any appetite!

Memorable Birthday Parties

I would like to make a last minute greeting  first. Happy Mother's Day to all lovely and wonderful mothers out there especially to my ever dearest Mama. Thank you so much for everything and God bless all mothers in this planet earth!

It is not only a memorable weekend because of the two parties I attended but also a celebration to  the greatest heroes of all times, that is a celebration  honoring  our beloved Mothers. Truly a wonderful weekend!

Last night, we attended a birthday party of a friend's daughter who just turned 7. The celebration was a blast and I believed everyone truly enjoyed it. Foods were great and delicious. Most  of the foods being served were Filipino dishes. Thanks to the hard work of  Pouyan's mother who did most of the preparations. You did a great job Elsa! Keep it up!

Foods during Pouyan's 7th birthday party last May 12, 2012.

Another birthday celebration was also held this afternoon. It was Dreanna's 4th birthday. It was normally a birthday party for children but since we were invited for a jewelry presentation, we also attended the banquet. The birthday celebrant together  with other children  had a wonderful time and lots of fun with all the games they had.  Sumptuous  dishes were also served. Most of the ladies did not only enjoy looking and shopping  the jewelry and accessories  but also  love the eating part.

Thanks Joanna for the invitation. I  had a great time and lots of fun with the other ladies.

Dreanna's 4th birthday dated May 13, 2012.

To Pouyan and Dreanna, I wish you both a bright future and may your mothers' good wishes for you will come true.  Wishing you also good  health, love and happiness! God bless you both and your family!
