Black Women are also Beautiful!

“Sponsored post. All opinions are mine.”
I can't imagine that weekend is almost ending! And yes, it is the last weekend of the January. I am actually getting excited as days pass-by. Any way guys, I hope you are having a wonderful start of the year 2018. So far, I am doing good. The past weeks have been very busy for me and I am thankful that I am back here,  giving you some updates.

Last week at work, my supervisor have been telling stories about his life. He is about to retire. I guess, a year more and he is good to enjoy life to the fullest with no worries at all. He mentioned that he was twice married to black women. The first wife was a black lady but the marriage did not worked-out due to work issues. He was assigned abroad and the wife don't want to go with him. The first marriage only lasted for over a year. Sad to hear about that but sometimes, it can happen  to anyone.

Foot Care and Shoes

Shoes. Everyone has them. Only a few, however, realize their importance. Once considered a luxury, they're now known to be a necessity. Not only do shoes provide their wearers with personality, style, comfort, and functionality, they also protect people's precious feet. Without that protection, our tootsies would be a painful mess. After all, how many people over the age of 20 can comfortably go barefoot all the time without foot problems later on?

Aldo has a massive selection of shoes for men and women, so you can take care of your feet and look amazing while doing it. We agree that Aldo is one of the best places to shop for your footwear needs.

But before footwear can look good and function well, our feet must be in good shape. The average person walks around 110,000 miles in a lifetime, so foot care is crucial. To achieve this type of health requires a number of practices.

My Dream Car When I Retire

Sponsored Post. All opinions are mine.
Am I retiring soon? Oh well, not really! Last week, I received a letter from the Retirement Office  saying  that if I work until 67, I will get that certain amount when I retire. Believed me, I will never work until 67 because as of now, I am already planning for an early retirement. I would say and hopefully in God's will, I want to retire before reaching the age of 50. I am slowly planning for  it and this is the reason why, I am working hard now to go for an early retirement, have a simple life, do all the things that I wanted to do and most of all,  drive my dream car.

I have a dream car and it is good to know that I am slowly saving for it.  I have been driving a car for over ten years now and I  have the understanding that it is  a must to own one especially if you are driving it daily to your workplace.  It is not a luxury anymore but it is a necessity of having one, whether for family or work purposes.

Hello November! How are you guys? How was the Halloween celebration? I hope you had an enjoyable one. Wow, it seems that time is running so fast now. We are already in the second to the last month of 2016. Cheap Shopping for Electronics at Groupon

I have been compensated of this post with either a sample product and/or payment. All opinions are mine.

The sun is shining brightly outside. It is such a beautiful day! It seems like a perfect day to go somewhere, maybe window shopping or strolling with friends in the city. I even got an invitation from a friend today to have lunch with her. Sad to say, I cannot go  since I am not really feeling well for almost a week now. I hope and pray that I will be feeling perfectly good again and back to my normal health.

Good thing  to know, life is never boring now especially with the advent of modern technology like computers and internet. One thing you can do is browse online and go shopping. This is what I am doing the past days, window shopping at home. I actually need a new laptop. My favorite laptop broke down anymore when I updated it to Windows 10. According to my colleague, it is not really advisable to do an update or upgrade to your laptop. Whatever system it came, let it be. I regret it when I updated it, when in fact, it is still working good.

Anyway, I am still thankful because there are a lot of online shopping stores that offers huge discounts on many products. I also found out that Groupon Goods are simply awesome! While searching for a laptop in their site, I found out that most or maybe all of their products in this electronic category  offer huge discounts.  That would mean a lot of savings for a  cheap shopper like me. Their laptop deals are enormous that I am now  confuse of what laptop to buy. lol..  I still have time to decide. The good thing is, I can shop at the comfort of my home and even have a lot of choices at Groupon.

I am loving this site especially that you don't need to pay for a  membership which means additional savings for our wallet.  Fellow shopaholic, what are you waiting for! Enjoy shopping to us!

Finally Got My Travel Confirmation

It looks like somebody will be travelling again soon. How I really wish that I am always on the road because it is the place and  time when I see and feel myself at best.  Gone are those years when I can travel anytime and anywhere I want. Anyway  I am so grateful that inspite the full time job I am having right now, I can still  do some travels somewhere out there.

I remember my colleague telling me today that she still have 150 days before her visit to the United States of America. I  told her, that is good to know about that and I surprised her by saying  that I only have less than 60 days before my next travels.

And yes, I finally received the travel confirmation.  I would say, I am getting excited day by day that sometimes the thought every night of visiting a special place will come nearer that it makes me go to sleep so late.

I booked the plane ticket last January. I believed  the price of the ticket was already fair enough but then, when I remember the prices 12 years ago,  it seems that it is double the price already.  It does not matter most since I am really getting excited for this vacation.  I believed this will be the highlight of my travels for this year.

Lord of Travels, please always guide and protect me and all those who are traveling along the road to be safe and in good condition  in their journey.

I guess, this is all for now. I have to hit the sack before it gets too late. Take care everyone!

Can't Wait for Spring and Do Gardening!

Hello lovely people in this universe! How have you been doing out there? I hope everything is doing great especially during the past two months of 2016. So far, I can't complain for now.  I seldom complain anyway because I  believed  life has been good to me,  living simply and happily. Thanks to my family and friends for all their inspirations. Above all, thanks be to God for everything!

Lovely yellow tulips in the backyard during spring season.

I am just  happy because I cannot wait for my favorite time of the year, the spring season. Last weekend,  when I visited the backyard, I found out that the first spring flowers like crocus are slowly blooming. Sad to say, it snowed last Monday and I hope  that they are not frozen. I need to see them again this weekend.

Various kinds of tulips in our backyard.  I am getting excited to see them again.

Last Tuesday, it was not snowing and today  the weather was friendlier. There was sunshine and  everytime when the sun is shining,  I felt happiness in between. I grew up in the tropics and there is always sunshine everyday.

I am getting excited for the spring time. I can't wait to do some gardening and see the first spring flowers like tulips, narcissus, crocus, hyacinths and daffodils.

For now, let me share some  spring flowers to brighten your day. Cheers and all the best for the month  of March.  Take care folks!

Christmas Decor Tips and Ideas

Decorating for the holidays has become far more elaborate than it used to be. No longer are colorful lights enough to help people get into the Christmas spirit. While people are going bigger and better with their Christmas decorations at home, so are commercial businesses. LED lights, oversized decorations and interactive displays are quickly becoming the norm for commercial christmas decorations because they can be effective in attracting traffic and customers. Since the process of decorating a commercial building can be a challenging process, here are some tips to make the process go a bit smoother.

Know Your Restrictions

Before planning what type of decorations you want to display, it is vital to know any restrictions that may be in place on your property or in the surrounding area. If you are leasing a space or building, the landlord may have restrictions as to how elaborate a display can be. Some cities also have restrictions on the height of Christmas displays.

Know Your Audience

Ask yourself, "Who are the people you hope to attract with your decorations?" For example, if your business is in an area where there are large groups of people who celebrate holidays other than Christmas such as Chanukah or Kwanza, think about what appeals to them. If your business caters to families with young kids, think about what would most appealing.

Buy From A Reputable Source

Christmas decorations for commercial spaces have become big business over the last few years. As a result, there are lots of companies vying for your business. Do your homework to find a reputable retailer who not only provides the types of decorations you are seeking, but are also top quality. A great example is Holiday Lights & Magic, Inc. at www.holidaylightsandmagic.com. They offer one of the largest selections of quality Christmas displays for commercial purposes as competitive prices. Their selection includes such staples as oversized ornaments, giant commercial trees, and LED lights.

Don't Go Overboard

Decorating for Christmas stops being fun or profitable when you go overboard in burdening your team, your time, and your budget. To avoid such headaches, start planning months in advance your budget and what you hope to accomplish. Holiday decorations do not have to be a burden, but can be a fun and profitable experience for your business. The key is to plan ahead to make the most of the opportunity.

The Challenge of Finding the Right Remodeling Contractor

The hardest part about doing a home remodel is not actually the remodeling work itself. Most homeowners would agree that the biggest challenge is getting a contractor who is reliable, competent, and who has a good reputation to do the job. Putting in new cabinets, removing a wall, or changing the tile in a bathroom, is child’s play when compared to finding a good contractor who can do the job well from the beginning to the end.

Unfortunately, there are enough stories out there about contractor disasters to fill up a library. Many of these revolve around contractors who started the job, but never finished it. These contractors may say that they need up to three times the amount of money they originally bid for the job in order to complete it properly.

Of course, even with the best contractor, doing a home renovation will involve stress, expense, and unwanted surprises. Yet, the right contractor can minimize the challenges involved, and increase the success of any job.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Installing Pre-hung Doors

If you’re building or renovating a home, installing your own doors is a great way to save a little money. Many builders and homeowners prefer pre-hung doors because they are convenient and fairly easy to install. Unlike a slab door, a pre-hung door is already attached to the frame. All you need is a rough opening to install it in, a few tools, and a little bit of know-how. Although slab doors are a little less expensive to purchase up-front, pre-hung doors can save you time and effort during the installation process. Following these steps will help ensure that you install your pre-hung doors correctly:
  1. Gather Your Tools
Pre-hung doors can be quite heavy, so you should recruit at least one other person to help you install them. Before you begin, gather up the following tools: tape measure, finish nails, shims, hammer, nail punch, utility knife, circular saw (or jigsaw), level, and screwdrivers. You may not need the circular saw, but it will come in handy if you need to trim your doorjambs. Wood putty is important to have on-hand when you are ready to hide the nail holes in your installed doors.

6 Tips for Making Your Construction Site Safer

Working as a construction worker is almost similar to being a superhero. Each day you are entrusted with the responsibility of bearing heavy loads and using expensive equipment. Squatting on scaffolds and riding in cranes puts you so high up in the sky that you have the feeling you are flying. What makes your job extraordinary and enjoyable can also put a lot of stress on you. If you don’t take care, you can incur injuries while working. Here are some safety tips to follow to avoid common injury and stress on the construction site.

1. Lift objects properly

As a construction worker, backaches are your primary enemy. It is easy to get injuries while carrying heavy loads, but you can avoid this hazard altogether. Always bend your knees so that you don’t twist to the side while lifting. For a better balance, put one foot in front of the other.

2. Use ergonomic portable and high-powered tools

Tools are meant to make your work simpler. You may not realize it, but frequent use of poorly designed tools can make you develop conditions such as trigger finger, white finger, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tendonitis. Even powered tools can make you develop serious problems due to their excessive noise and high vibration. Thus, as an employer or supervisor, ensure the tools you select for your workers have a long trigger and low vibration levels. For the hand tools, safety coordinators or employers must select those that require less force and don’t put a strain on the hand when held tight. The hand tools must also be balanced, and not conduct electricity or heat.

Laying It Down: Wood Floors

If it seems as if installing hardwood floors is something that should be left to the pros, you might be right. If you want to include complicated angles or a herringbone pattern, hiring installers could be your best bet. However, if you are doing a straightforward layout with interlocking planks, perhaps you could conquer the task yourself. Here’s everything you need to know before you get started on the project.

Materials
Gone are the days of the narrow oak plants you used to see in turn-of-the-century homes. These days, wider planks and larger pieces of wood in general are the norm. Fewer seams in a living space make the room seem bigger, it seems, so that’s the way manufacturers are leaning. Another trend in natural wood floors is unfinished planks; that is, wood that is sanded and waxed but not shined to the high gloss of finished floors. Even painted planks or unusual wood colors such as grey have risen in popularity in recent years.

You Are Qualified for the Job

Hey folks! I am  back in the blogosphere. My recent travels  are over now. I  am actually back to work for over a week. I guess, I am still having a jetlag and at the moment I am not really feeling good with some colds and cough. I am quite tired right now but let me give you a quick update before I sign-off to dreamland.

Last August, I submitted an application for another job. This is quite a better job than what I am doing right now. I know and I believed I can do it since it is quite related to my degree and work experiences. As a banker and with a degree of  Bachelor of Science in Commerce majoring in Accounting, this job is really so easy compared to what I do before at the bank being a Branch Operation Assistant, in which I served as an Accountant at the branch I worked before.

Yesterday, I actually received  a letter saying that I am qualified for the job. This morning, I received  a call for an interview tomorrow. I hope and  pray that I will  get this job...in God's will..so help me Lord!

I am slowly off to bed now. I hope I feel better tomorrow  especially for the job interview.

Take care folks and until then.

Autumn is Here, Time to Turn On The Heater

The pellets oven  at home.
Hey folks! How are things going on out there in your part? I hope you are having a good start of the second BER months.  So far, so good for me and I am thankful about it.  How's the weather in your area right now? It is getting so cold in this part of the globe.  Now wonder October is here and this is the time of the year when fall or autumn starts, which also means  that the temperature is dropping from day to day.  This is also the time of the year when heaters are starting to be used. Indeed, winter season is inevitable and it is coming so soon.

This morning when I went outside to pick up some mint leaves (to mix for my green tea)  in the garden, I did not went out right away because it was really freezing cold.  I picked up and wore my jacket first, afraid of getting sick due to cold weather.

Since winter is almost approaching,  our heater is also slowly running. It is not so cold yet inside the house because since two weeks ago,  our heater is already turn-on during the night.  During day time, we turn it off to save heater bills. Besides nobody is home, unless I am free from work.

We are actually using two kinds of heaters during high winter season. One is an electric heater made of marble stones and the other one is a pellets oven.  There are actually electric heaters installed  in every room, from the dining room to the bedrooms, toilets, living room, working room  and the hallway.   The pellet over is located almost in the middle of the house and it is the only one that is running 24-hours a day during high winter season. For now, since it is not too cold inside the house, we only turn it on  during night  time.

The pellets oven  is really a good heating equipment since we started using it in 2009.  In fact, we already save some bucks every year since we use it. On the other hand, the electric heaters are only turn-on  when it is  really so cold inside the house.

I wish, I can  find  more time in sharing how we are trying to save for our heaters during winter season. That is all for now peeps. I wish everyone a wonderful and blessed month of October. Take care everyone!

The Three Elements of a Good Contractor

If you are considering renovating any part of your home, the first step to getting a project started is to find the renovation contractor you will be working with. How do you go about finding the right contractor for the project? You will have to do your research and make sure that you understand the bidding process. Here are three elements of a good contractor that you should always look for.

Licensing and References
Before you contact any contractor for a bid on your renovation project, it is extremely important to understand the licensing requirements in the area where you live. Then you will be able to check any potential contractors to see if they meet all of the local requirements to do the work your are requesting.

Along with licensing, you should also try to get a couple of references from people who have used them on their own renovation projects. This will give you a first-hand experience on how a typical project will go from start to finish.

Getting a Detailed Bid
Bids can vary widely. Even the term 'bid' can mean different things to different contractors. To clear up any confusion, a good contractor will let you know whether the bid is a fixed price or an estimate of the work. This will help you with your budget and help to maintain an honest relationship between you and your contractor. To get your renovation budget in even better shape, you can ask your contractor for an itemized list so that you know the breakdown of the total cost.

Checking on Suppliers
Another way to tell if you are hiring a quality contractor is to ask where your contractor is getting his materials for each job. Then you can go directly to the supplier to make sure that your contractor has a professional reputation within the industry. If a contractor is fair, pays his bills on time and is courteous to his suppliers, you should have no problem with your own renovation project.

While taking estimates, it is important to see how well you and the contractor communicate. If they are difficult when answering questions, the process of working with them may also become difficult.

Enjoying Your Passion for All Things Boating

When boating is your life, you may want to surround yourself with items that remind you of your time out on the water. You can decorate your home or office with marina-related objects when you shop now online. The online store has a variety of boating decorations that can be put in any room of your home. These items can also also be used to decorate your boat if you prefer. To get an idea of what boating decorations await you on the Internet, you can browse the website at your leisure and find wall hangings, clocks, and more for sale.

While the items could be used in your home, they also serve a practical purpose in keeping you safe on your boat. For example, a proficient sailor must know the temperature and wind direction at all times. You may be unable to rely on your electronic devices like your cell phone and tablet for these readings. You can keep watch of these measurements the old-fashioned way by installing a thermostat and a wing gauge on your boat.

You also want to know what direction you are headed at all times. While you may have sophisticated equipment on board for this purpose, you never know when this equipment will fail. Rather than risk an electrical failure or the weather knocking your directional readings out of whack, you can always tell in what direction you are headed with a compass that you can buy online.

These items can come in handy on your boat. However, they also serve just as well in your home or office. They also recall your passion for boating and heading out onto the water. Along with selecting boat-related decorations, you can also find other boating supplies that you will need for your next excursion. If you want to stay replenished and hydrated while boating, you may invest in some of the snacks, beverages, and supplements found on the website. These food choices allow you to enjoy a flavorful snack until you arrive back at shore. You can also keep your boat in good condition with squeegees, wax, and other maintenance items that will remove debris and keep your boat shiny.

You also want to safeguard your passengers and you at all times. You can find life jackets, fire extinguishers, flares, and more by shopping on this website that is dedicated to boating.

A Wonderful Start of the Harvest Month

Goodbye lovely July and hello beautiful August! Finally my most favorite month of harvest is here. I  am always thankful to July and the other past month of 2015. There were just a lot of wonderful things that did happened this year. What else can I say but to express my gratefulness for everything.

Thanks God for the wonderful first two days of my fave month of August. I was able to spent time with lovely people, friends and talked to my family back home. Life is too short to complain and think of problems. Be grateful everyday especially for the blessings of waking up every morning. Others don't have the chance to experience the world anymore.

Thanks God especially for the greatest gift you had given us, the gift of life to experience the beauty of this planet. To each and everyone especially to my family, relatives and friends  near and far, I wish you all a great and blessed month of August! Good health, love and happiness to one and all! God bless and live life to the fullest!
