It's Snowing in Bavaria

Perfect timing! My car  has its  winter tires on now! This is one a must-to-do before snow comes. This morning when I woke-up and looked at the window, the surroundings are already white.  Snow is already here! It was a combination of snow and rain and really good for driving.

I should go for grocery shopping today but cancelled it  due to the bad weather. I  might go tomorrow. If it is not really very important, I always avoid driving and going elsewhere. Continuous snowing is not really good. Good things is, the roads and highways in Germany are being cleaned from time to time by government workers who are assigned in road repair and maintenance.

I guess this is the time to hibernate...Oh well, I still have a lot of things to do offline. I hope I can finish most of it tomorrow.  Besides, I need to put my Christmas decors on.

Finally Had My Winter Tires On

I have been hearing weather updates in Bavaria, Germany the past days. It says that it will be snowing starting tomorrow. I am not quite sure if this will  affect our area as well. The weather is really getting colder and colder everyday. This is the  sign that winter is almost coming. This is also the reason why we already changed the summer  tires of my car to winter ones.

One good thing, we always save money when changing tires from summer to winter or vice versa. Hubby's brother in law owns a car repair shop and they have all the equipments with regards to repairing cars including coats machine. I already saw how this machine works everytime we changed the tires of our cars. One good thing, hubby can always use his brother in law's equipments for free, thus saving us some bucks every year.

I am ready for the winter season now including my car. I am always careful when driving especially during snow time and I always pray for safe driving. I hope you too!

How to Warm Up a Home

Now that we are in the midst of winter time, it is necessary that we figure out a few ways to keep our homes warm and stay that way in order to save a few dollars in electric or heating bills. There are many ways to do it but in my opinion the cheapest way to do it is by using the proper curtains or drapes that are meant to be used on colder days. From thicker materials such as polyester to silk, there are heavier fabrics that provide energy saving warmth while looking great!

Huge selections of curtains or drapes and other window treatments in which you can find the thermal curtains as well to use to warm up your home and save a little money on your monthly electric or heating bills. Thermal curtains are not only to be used as an energy-saver during winter time but can also be used anytime to reduce noise and light that are coming in from outside. Not only does Marburn offer window treatments but other household accessories like table coverings, rugs, runners, bedding, bathroom accessories and so much more.

It's a great time to check out online sales with so many companies offering free shipping - that means no waiting in line or worrying about sell outs. If you are looking for a cheap alternative to warm up your home, try thermal curtains and drapes first. This is one of the best and cheapest way of saving and going green without doing major renovations - which could take weeks or months (and thousands of dollars!)

Bathroom Renovation is Over

Building a house or renovating a bathroom can sometimes very stressful. This is especially true if you don't have the right budget for it.

Before we started the renovation of our bathroom, we made it sure that we have the finances to do it. If not, we will for sure have some headache especially in buying all the materials we needed.

Before we renovated our bathroom, we already ordered a bathroom set and started looking for other bathroom accessories. Now the searching and the renovating is finally over.  Our bathroom is finally done!

Toilet seats are included in the  bathroom accessories we bought for our newly renovated bathroom.

Another Travel Gadget

If you are a traveller, you surely have a lot of gadgets when you travel. I surely do!  Yesterday, I went to the nearby town to  buy  a flashlight and  rechargeable batteries. I was looking for maha powerex brand but I cannot find one in the store. I should search and buy  it online but I have no more time because I will be travelling again  this weekend.  A flashlight and some batteries are only some of the travel gadgets and accessories I bring with me when I travel. I also use rechargeable batteries for my cameras.

I guess, it is time to finish packing up my luggage again. See you soon Basel and Strasbourg!

Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving  celebration is over  for our American friends. Do you only express thanksgiving during  this day or everyday  of your life?  If you have to ask me, I am always trying my best to give thanks  everyday for  many things and happenings that comes my way.

Thanksgiving is one of the biggest celebrations and holidays for  our American  friends.  It has been  an annual tradition since  1863. President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens", to be celebrated on Thursday. Now it is celebrated every fourth Thursday of the months of November.

I had a wonderful time celebrating  Thanksgiving day with friends yesterday. At lunch time, one of my friends invited me to go with them in the US  Base near our area.  In their Dining Facility or DiFac, a lot of foods were served to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.

I also attended two parties of my friends last night. I am grateful for meeting wonderful people around. Thank you for your friendship and for letting me partake in your Thanksgiving banquet.

The Musical Fountain of Bellagio

The Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas.
Are you visiting Las Vegas? If you do, don't miss the famous free show in front of Bellagio. The so-called Fountains of Bellagio is a choreographed water feature with performances set to light and music.

I always love watching this spectacular show when I visit Las Vegas. I am always amazed everytime I watch it.

There are a lot of shows and entertainments to see and enjoy in this city. You also witness live performers on the street. If you cross this bridge between Caesars Palace and Bellagio, you can see a lot of singers performing live on their own. I guess some got their relic guitars at Musicians friend. I give some tips sometimes especially when I see that the singer performing has really great voice.

Visiting Las Vegas is truly an enjoyable one considering all the entertainments you can experience there. I believed I am one of the lucky ones who was able to visit the "World's Gaming and Entertainment Capital." Not only once but for the second time already. I love Las Vegas!

The Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas

Have you been to Las Vegas? If you love shoppping, I believed you this  is the perfect place for you to go in Vegas. It is located in Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is also one of the largest enclosed malls worldwide with over 250 stores.

I remember going there with some friends. One friend who was visiting frrom Iowa, wanted to go to Zara store inside Fashion Show Mall. We've been going around the store and this friend from Iowa were trying to try some clothes but she can't find her right size. I guess she is just to small and no adult sire could fit her.

The highlights  of this mall  is its, elevated stage, a fashion runaway and The Cloud. You can find branded and signature stores inside this mall. I guess it is up for you to find out if you visit  Vegas in the future. For sure, you will have fun shopping there!

Football in Germany

Football is the most famous sport in Germany. Millions of Germans love this sport and many are also members of the different football fan clubs. Being an adopted citizen of this country, I am starting to love this game as well. I watch it from time to time especially when it is played live over the television.

Football or soccer is not new to me. Being an athlete back in my high school and college days, I also played different sports including softball, volleyball, basketball and other outdoor games. My favorite part is during the awarding ceremony. I could still remember our department getting most of the trophies in school. Those are some of the most unforgettable days I had during my college days, playing as varsity in softball team.

FC Bayern team during their play with  Real  Madrid. That was a very exciting game!
Now that I am living in Germany, I am starting to love watching football games. It is a very exciting and interesting sport!

Seafood at Makino, Las Vegas

Visiting would mean entertainment, gaming, shopping and dining! You will surely love it there! It was my second time in Las Vegas and my second time in this buffet restaurant in Makino.  I guess they have a chain  of restaurants  not only in Vegas but also in other cities in the US. The one that we always visited in  Premium Outlet. One of my fave outlets in Las Vegas.

What I love in this buffet restaurant is that, they serve seafood  the most.  Shrimps, fish, crabs, clams and also meat are present in their menu. Salads, drinks and variety of  desserts  are also included. I  would like to go back there again  once I visit Vegas in the future.

Top healthy activities in London

With summer upon us and the unseasonable weather finally receding; outdoor activities are definitely on the menu, as the schools break up and the family can enjoy sunny weekends and longer evenings. So, to burn off any excess stress from work – or to give the kids a break from their games consoles – here are a few of London’s top destinations for healthy, active fun.

Cycling The capital’s roads can be hair-raising for cyclists, but there are some wonderfully picturesque and safe cycling routes in the city. The Richmond to Hampton Court route along the Thames Path is a lovely eight-mile ride, culminating at the magnificent Hampton Court Palace, where you can grab a bite to eat or a cool drink. The Wandle Trail from the Thames to Croydon is another pleasant off-road route, this time along the River Wandle, with parks and interesting National Trust properties along the way. Cycling is also a great calorie burner: you can burn off between 200 and 800 calories in an hour, so your leisurely ride will have bonus benefits.
River Thames in London.

Canoeing Don’t be daunted: canoeing and kayaking aren’t necessarily the extreme sports you’ve seen on the telly – it’s actually quite a relaxing form of exercise and a great way to enjoy the water on a fine day. The West Reservoir Centre is a good place to learn the basics, along with the numerous canoe clubs on the Thames. It’s also a relatively easy skill to master, so there’s need to worry if you’re not a natural athlete.

Swimming London has a number of gorgeous lidos, which offer a fun and relatively cheap day out for the family. Frolicking around in an outside pool on a sunny day is terrifically relaxing and a great way to get your arms and legs moving. Swimming is an all-round body toner and uses a large variety of muscles. Above all, kids never seemed to get bored in a pool and you can enjoy the sun (hopefully) while playing countless different games in the water.

These are just some of the hidden gems in the London area uncovered by the In the Know Telegraph Partnership with American Express, bringing you some of the best activities and days out that the capital has to offer. To make the most of your free time in the great outdoors, why not opt for one of the great credit cards with rewards from American Express, and earn exclusive reward points virtually every time you use your card.

Need To Clean-Up

There are a lot  of things that I need to clean-up. First I need to wipe and clean my dusty computer. Since  I came back from my US trip, I haven't done it yet. I also need to clean its  files  by deleting thousands of pictures from  my previous travels. I already transferred everything to my external hard drive.

Second, I need to clean-up my messy computer room. I did  two weeks ago  but  it seems  that it was hit by tsunami again. haha!  There are just a lot of papers scattering around especially travel offers.

Third, I need to  clean and format some of my SD cards. I will need it for our incoming trip to Italy this coming weekend.

Lastly, I really need to clean the whole house. But since there is a renovation going on  in our bathroom, I just can't really do the right  cleaning. I already started dusting and removing the cobwebs but there are still a lot.

What else should I need to clean-up...There are still a lot..lolz! Goodnight folks. Tomorrow is another day!

The temple of Artemis in Ephesus, Turkey

It was over a year now since we visited Turkey. It was so far a very interesting trip seeing some of the historical ruins in this country. I could not believed  that  Turkey has a lot of  impressive ruins to visit. Some of it are even included in  the Seven Wonders of the  Ancient World.

One of the historical sites we visited  was the Temple of Artemis. After our sightseeing  at the ruins of Ephesus, we proceeded to this area. It is actually located in this area but our bus drove a bit as we went there. It is located near the town of Selcuk  in today's Turkey.

The Temple of Artemis is also known as the Temple of Diana, a Greek  temple dedicated to the Greek goddess  Artemis. It is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient   World.

That 10-day trip we had in Turkey was truly a memorable one for me. It truly made me feel like traveling back in time seeing  some of those magnificent historic ruins in this country.

I hope to be backed there again and visit more historic  sights.

The modern site of the Temple of Artemis near Selcuk, Turkey. It is an honor for me to visit such kind of  amazing ruins.
