View From Our Hotel in Layos, Spain

We spent three nights in a hotel in Layos, Spain during our trip last December 2011. It was so far a very memorable trip and I am missing all the time. From our hotel window, you can see a lot of olive trees. I guess thousands and thousands of it.

From Layos, we had some trips  going to Madrid and Toledo that time.

Layos is a municipality in the province of Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, Spain.

the beautiful view from our hotel window. I love watching the olive trees.

Live Music at the Volksfest

I always visit the  German-American
Volksfest in one of the U.S. bases in Bavaria. This year's celebration was another success, I believed. I guess everybody's favorite especially the adult ones were  the live bands playing inside the beer tents. Everyday different bands were  playing live music during that festival.

Their music instruments  are really good. If I have the money, I would also love to buy fender super champ xd for my friend who requested me years ago to buy that instrument. He has his own band back home in the Philippines. Sad to say, I just can't afford it for now.

Have a lovely day to all!

A Day Trip to Prague, Czech Republic

Some friends were requesting me to search for cheap train tickets going to Prague. Departing from  in Parsberg train station, it is quite a long trip and the tickets were so expensive.  It was between 459.00 to 579.00 Euros for five persons depending on the date you are leaving. Sometimes last minute tickets are just so expensive.

There are sometimes bus trip going to  Prague. This is what we did during my first visit there last 2009. The bus trip only cost around 38.00 Euros. That is quite  cheap and the tour guide is already included.

My second day trip to Czech  Republic's capital city was last July  2011. I  escorted my friend's relative who had a vacation in Europe that time. The trip was quite  good especially that I showed to them most of the sights in Prague.

One of the bridges in Prague. This was taken last July 2011 when we were on our way to Prague's castle.

Spring Sale

I received a shopping catalog last week. It features spring sale for this year. I found a lot of items on sale including fashion clothing, electronics, furniture, garden decors and many more. I was almost tempted to go shopping but thanks goodness I avoided it.  I especially love all the  spring clothing that are on sale but  I have some other plans for my budget this summer. What would it be? I guess it is a secret for now. Just kidding folks.

I am slowly signing off for now. It was again a long day for me today. Goodnight and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid, Spain

I am trying to think how many times did I passed-by in this beautiful square in Madrid. The City Hall of Madrid, located in Plaza de Cibeles is a famous square in the city of Madrid, Spain. It is a neo-classical complex of marble sculptures with fountains that has become an iconic symbol in Spain's capital city.

There is a fountain located in this square, the fountain of Cibeles. It was named after Cybele (or Ceres), Roman goddess of fertility and is seen as one of Madrid's most important symbols. The Cibeles fountain depicts the goddess, sitting on a chariot pulled by two lions.  If you have good eyes, you can see the fountain at the left side of my image below.

Happy 20th Birthday Munich Airport

It is actually a belated happy birthday for Munich Airport. Last May 17, 2012 was the 20th birthday of this airport.  I  happened to be there the next day  because I accompanied a friend who picked-up some visitors  coming from the United States.

The airport was so busy that day because tourists from around the world are coming not only for visit but also to witness the final games of the Europe Football League held at  Allianz  Stadium on May 12, 2012. Chelsea London won against FC Bayern Munich.  The football team from London won various trophies and awards after  a lot of winnings including  the European Football League.

May 17, 2012 marked the 20th  building anniversary of Munich airport.

Munich International Airport is located around 28 km away from Munich City. It is the hub for Lufthansa and Star Alliance partner airlines. The airport is named after Franz Josef Strauß, who played a prominent, albeit sometimes controversial role in politics of the Federal Republic of Germany from the 1950s until his death in 1988.
A rocket  at the airport compound of Munich International Airport.

This airport is where I always fly when travelling in Europe and other continents of the world.

Things I love in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the dream destination of millions of tourists worldwide. Do you think I am lucky enough to spend a two months vacation in the "World's Entertainment Capital"? I believed I am and I truly had a fabulous time in Las Vegas.

The amazing Fountains of Bellagio.

I love watching the Fountains of Bellagio when I was there. This is always a spectacular show for me. The choreographed water feature with performances set to light and music are truly fantastic. The show takes place every 30 minutes in the afternoons and early evenings, and every 15 minutes from 8 pm to midnight. The best thing I love, it is a free show. I hope to see it again this year.

I love gallivanting in Caesars Palace. This is one of my fave hotels where I always go roaming around. If I get hungry, there are restaurants inside. I never get bored because I can go window shopping in its Forum Shops. And yes, I love taking pictures in all of its corners.

Fremont Street Experience was great! This is one of places you need to experience when you are in Las Vegas. It is a pedestrian mall and attraction downtown in this city. If I am not mistaken, its LED display canopy is the biggest around the world. There are free shows like live bands every night in this street. I love it there!
The Fremont Street Experience with its LED canopy. I was there!
Visit to the different world class hotels. There are a lot of interesting themed hotels in Las Vegas. For example, if you want to experience Luxor in Egypt, go visit Luxor Hotel or maybe The Venetian hotel to feel the atmosphere of Venice, Italy. Paris Hotel will  give you the experience of  being in Paris, France.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
These are only some of the things I love during my two months vacation in Las Vegas last 2008. That time,  I boarded one of the Delta Air Lines Flights from Munich to MCCarran International Airport and vice versa.

If you are visiting Las Vegas in the future, be sure to plan it ahead. You can always find affordable accommodation that best suit your needs and budget. American Airlines also offers cheap flights there in all seasons of the year. Like what I mentioned, plan your vacation ahead and I know for sure you can  save time and money when doing it.

Cruise: What’s it all about?

Some people believe that cruise holidays are not for them - or at least that’s until they try it. It can take some persuasion to get onto a ship for a week or more, as the thought of this huge vessel becoming your bedroom, lounge, dining room, cinema and gym for a prolonged length of time can be a little overwhelming. But as the converted will say, it’s worth a try: and that’s why so many tour operators have introduced short taster cruises to try and win over the non-believers.

Taster cruises are typically one or two nights long, sailing from a UK port to nearby locations such as Paris or Brussels. Customers have the chance to alight there and spend a day exploring the city, before getting back on board for the short jaunt back to familiar shores. It’s short, sharp and sweet, but many taster cruises include a full array of sumptuous cuisine and high-octane entertainment - after all, it’s designed to offer a taste of cruising, and these are certainly the highlights.

For the more confident cruiser there are countless itineraries taking in a vast range of destinations. For instance, take Thomas Cook cruises. 2012 is shaping up to be another superb year that’s packed with varied itineraries across a range of liners, from the long-established P&O Cruises to the younger and more innovative Royal Caribbean International, which brings exciting new onboard activities into the fray with surf parks, rock climbing walls and top-notch entertainment.

A cruise lets you take in a vast range of destinations and makes the most of the journey in-between too. Where else can you wake up in a new destination every morning, and while away the time at sea by relaxing on deck, working out in the gym or dining in style? Whatever your opinion of cruise holidays, it’s certainly worth a shot.

Go Crazy in Crete

Greece has its fair share of top-notch party hotspots (Kos, Zante or Rhodes anyone?) but there’s nothing quite like a trip to Crete. Aside from the fact it’s the biggest island in Greece - giving you plenty of things to see and do should you come here for anything other than the clubs and pubs - Malia holidays are among the best in the clubbing calendar.

Not only did Malia get the star status when it became the setting for Inbetweeners: The Movie, the main strip is also one of the biggest in the Mediterranean. So regardless of what you’re here for - whether it’s rock clubs, sports bars or all-night clubs - there really is a night out for everyone. And this year, it’s hotting up to be something seriously special.

The line-up of clubbing holidays 2012 is nothing short of epic, and Malia is right in there with the best of them. It’s got the biggest names across the music industry from RnB and Hip hop to dance and house. And, like any clubbing hotspot, it’s got plenty of room for fun-filled foam parties and the inevitable 80s disco too. After all, a week without Wham! is like fish but no chips.

And then there’s the beach. The bars spill right onto this stretch of gorgeous golden sand, so you won’t have far to go for a refreshing cocktail. Here you’ve got everything from sunbeds and parasols to jet skis and pedalos. And when your appetite kicks in there’s a pretty tasty range of snacks to feast on. Mexican, Chinese, Indian, the obligatory burger and a bit of Greek cuisine too - it’s all here.

Malia is all about round-the-clock fun with like-minded company and some of the best nightlife in the Med. One thing’s for sure, it’s bound to satisfy any appetite!

Memorable Birthday Parties

I would like to make a last minute greeting  first. Happy Mother's Day to all lovely and wonderful mothers out there especially to my ever dearest Mama. Thank you so much for everything and God bless all mothers in this planet earth!

It is not only a memorable weekend because of the two parties I attended but also a celebration to  the greatest heroes of all times, that is a celebration  honoring  our beloved Mothers. Truly a wonderful weekend!

Last night, we attended a birthday party of a friend's daughter who just turned 7. The celebration was a blast and I believed everyone truly enjoyed it. Foods were great and delicious. Most  of the foods being served were Filipino dishes. Thanks to the hard work of  Pouyan's mother who did most of the preparations. You did a great job Elsa! Keep it up!

Foods during Pouyan's 7th birthday party last May 12, 2012.

Another birthday celebration was also held this afternoon. It was Dreanna's 4th birthday. It was normally a birthday party for children but since we were invited for a jewelry presentation, we also attended the banquet. The birthday celebrant together  with other children  had a wonderful time and lots of fun with all the games they had.  Sumptuous  dishes were also served. Most of the ladies did not only enjoy looking and shopping  the jewelry and accessories  but also  love the eating part.

Thanks Joanna for the invitation. I  had a great time and lots of fun with the other ladies.

Dreanna's 4th birthday dated May 13, 2012.

To Pouyan and Dreanna, I wish you both a bright future and may your mothers' good wishes for you will come true.  Wishing you also good  health, love and happiness! God bless you both and your family!

My Second Visit in Prague, Czech Republic

Last summer 2011 was my second visit to Czech Republic's capital city. My first visit was last September 2009.  Prague is around 3 hours drive from where we live in Bavaria, Germany.

I was invited by a friend to accompany her mother-in-law who was having a vacation that time in Europe. Some of her family members also went us. I was happy after hearing it and did not hesitated to show them Prague City. I was still quite familiar with Prague's vicinity especially the main sights to see. We have  seen most of the famous landmarks including the Old Town with Tyn Church, the astronomical clock at the Old Town Hall, Charles bridge, the Prague castle and more.

Our sightseeing tour ended with a dinner in  one of the restaurants in Prague. Thanks to my fiend's husband who was very eager to drive us to  this city.

Plan to Go Home

It is still not confirmed but I  hope to see my family back home in the Philippines next year. I am still waiting for my sponsors to pay for my trip on that  said vacation. Just kidding volks!  We are really planning to go home again when financial matters are present.
The fantastic view of the sea from our terrace. I miss this place.

My last vacation was  from November 2009 to February 2010.  Quite long huh! I long to see my parents again, my siblings and their children and of course my friends and former classmates. One of my nephews already requested for a jigsaw puzzle as present. I will for sure send some balikbayan boxes again.

The fantastic view of the sea from our terrace. I miss this place.
I  also miss watching the sunset from our terrace and the view of the beautiful  blue sky and blue sea. I hope this wish will come true next year..in God's will! Have a wonderful weekend to all!

Cebu City's Skyline from Taoist Temple

If you are at Taoist Temple, you can have a very nice view of   Cebu City.  Dubbed as the "Queen City of the South" and also the second city in the Philippines after Manila, there are a lot  of  sights to see and to experience in this city.

Among the famous sights are the Santo Nino Basilica, Magellan's Cross, Fort San Pedro, Colon Street, Lapu-lapu Monument  and more.

This was taken during my last vacation in  Cebu last 2010. You can see the Waterfront hotel  with its three blue towers. The port of Cebu is also visible in this image.

Important of Having A Credit Card When You Travel

I am glad that my application for credit card  was approved  two years ago despite being jobless. I just see its importance when I travel. Without it, I won't be able to book flights and hotels online. I really don't have a big amount of credit limit because I just need it for  petty things and some emergencies.  Sometimes swiping this plastic can be addictive when  you always want to use it for nonsense things or stuffs that you really don't need. For those who are having difficulties in paying their debts, I guess it is advisable to have fixed immediate annuities. With this  method, it will help you control and budget your financial  aspect in life.

Sometimes we just need to learn how to control our limits.  If expenses will  exceed income,  it will  result to overdraft, thus giving  headache in  our lives.

Book a Big Birthday Bash to Remember

When you’ve got a big birthday coming up, you really want to celebrate it in style. Why not book group accommodation with Travelodge and enjoy a full weekend of celebration?
Here are some ideas for that perfect birthday weekender, whatever big number you’ll be celebrating:

21st
Spring chickens celebrating their 21st birthday will want to let their hair down and go wild. Why not go for a fancy dress themed do – after all, you’re still young and gorgeous enough to get away with dressing up as Where’s Wally.
Seaside resorts are great fun on a night out – think Blackpool or Skegness – for frivolous, themed fun.

30th
If you’re approaching your big 30 you’re likely to want something with a touch of class to show your family and friends exactly how much you’ve grow up since the heady days of your early twenties. Let’s not get too old before our time though.

Leeds, England

Leeds is a fantastic city crammed full of classy bars and nightspots. Eat at Browns Brassiere, then head to Mook for cocktails. Once you’ve show just how sensible and grown up you can be it’s time to throw caution to the wind and head somewhere funky, fun and fabulous like the Birdcage nightclub.

40th
Hitting the naughty 40’s is a reason to celebrate in style. Your idea of style may have moved on a touch in the past decade so why not get your favourite people together for an activity weekend? Girls will love to head to a spa for a spot of pampering, whereas boys could go for clay pigeon shooting or archery. Regroup for a decadent dinner later and swap stories from the day.

50th
Those who are feeling fab at 50 should consider hitting the capital for shopping and a show. London’s West End has an amazing array of shows to choose from which will suit a mixed group of sexes and ages including Ghost, Rock of Ages and Blood Brothers.
A street in London, England.

However you want to celebrate your big day, you should find out about making large group accommodation bookings to keep your group together. Once you’ve got them sorted you can focus on what the occasion is really about – you, you, you!
