The Hohensalzburg in Salzburg, Austria

This was my third visit in Salzburg, Austria but it was the first time for me to go to the castle. Hohensalzburg is a castle atop the Festungsberg mountain. Its name literally means "High Salzburg Fortress". If I have to translate Hohensalzburg one by one, it actually consist of three German words, Hohe means high, Salz is salt and Burg, a fortress.

There are a lot of sights to visit in Salzburg. Its Old Town for example is a must to see because it belong to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This city is also the birthplace of the famous musician and composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The view of Hohensalzburg at the Cathedral Square. This monument with a man on top of it was still not there during my first visit in 2008. I am not quite sure but I did not see this in my first visit. The construction of the fortress began in 1077 under Archbishop Gebhard von Helfenstein.

Buildings in Nuernberg, Germany

This was taken in Nuernberg, a city in Bavaria, Germany during our visit the other week. This is one of the old but beautiful and historical buildings I like in this city with all those windows on the roof.

Skywatching in Disneyland, California

First of all, I want to welcome the month of August! This is my lucky month because I was born in this month. July is finally over. I can't imagine sometimes how time flies-by so fast. Anyway, it seems that I did not share photos of my favorite memes. Sorry guys, my days are always busy especially that I have to do a lot offline.

Here are some images for you. The first one was taken in Disneyland, California during our visit last June 2008. I have a yellow cosmos flower also as a welcome to this month. I wish everyone a lovely month of August! Take care folks!

Cosmos is a genus of about 20–26 species of annual and perennial plants in the family Asteraceae, native to scrub and meadow areas in Mexico (where the bulk of the species occur), the southern United States (Arizona, Florida), Central America and northern South America south to Paraguay.

Looking at The Sky in Bavaria, Germany

Blue sky with some cotton like clouds
Beautiful yellow raps flowers on the field
Mint-green hills on the background
What a lovely scene to see!
Nature has truly its beauty!

Paradise Pier, Disneyland, California

Paradise Pier is a themed "land" at Disney's California Adventure Park, Disneyland's sister park. Its appearance is based on that of real California boardwalks. Despite its name and the presence of a nearby manmade lake, Paradise Pier is not actually a pier, but merely a waterside area of the park. The roller coaster California Screamin' sprawls across much of it, with various other attractions and forms of entertainment scattered around it.

Here is an image taken during our visit last 2008.

Wolfstein Castle and The Orchids for my Memes

Good day everyone! It is just too hot outside now. I am thankful that we don't need an aircondition inside the house because we live in an old stone house wherein the walls are very thick. If I am not mistaken, the walls ranges from 1 meter until one and a half meters thick. The cold can stay inside for quite a long time. We usually open some of our windows during the night so that the cold wind can come inside the house. During the day, we closed all windows including the blinds to prevent the heat from coming inside.

Here are the images for my memes. Sorry folks, I am quite late.

Remembering My Trip to Stratford Upon Avon, Shakespeare's Birthplace

It seems that I haven't updated this blog for some days. Sorry folks, I am quite busy offline doing a lot of chores in the house especially cleaning the dust caused by the little renovation we are having right now. July is here! I just wish everyone a wonderful one.

Here are some pictures taken during my three weeks vacation in England. These were taken in Stratford Upon Avon, one of the cities we visited.

This building is the birthplace of the famous poet and playwriter William Shakespeare.
The second image below is the Avon River that flows in Stratford, thus the name Stratford Upon Avon.

Yellow Flowers and the Horses

We just happened to pass-by this house as we went walking yesterday. I believed that these flowers are perennial ones and I want to have them in our garden also. I will see if I can find some of these this week when I will visit a garden center.

I also have a picture of the horses below. This was taken during a parade we witnessed yesterday. I guess that's all for now. It's time to go to bed. Have a wonderful week to all!

View From Our Window

Hello peeps! I am here again to give you a little update. I am sharing an image taken during my vacation in my home country. This is the beautiful view from our window. HB said that he want to retire in this small paradise in the future.... in God's will. I also miss this scene. During my vacation this year, I always look at this window every time and wake up. During the afternoon, I also love to watch the sunset over the horizon. Such an amazing scenery!

Home Sweet Home in Cebu, Philippines

I believed there is always no place like home. I found my second home in Germany but Philippines will always be my home. My family is currently living in the Province of Cebu in the Philippines. Cebu is also consists of different cities and islands. You can see a lot of intresting sights in Cebu City and other parts of the island. One of the best things I love here are the white beaches like in Malapascua or Bantayan island. Here are some images from our place somewhere in the south part of Cebu.

the terrace in our house facing the sea.

Cebu (Cebuano:Sugbo) is a province in the Philippines, consisting of Cebu island and 167 surrounding islands. It is located to the east of Negros, to the west of Leyte and Bohol islands. Cebu is a long narrow island stretching 225 kilometers from north to south, surrounded by 167 neighbouring, smaller islands, which include Mactan, Bantayan, Malapascua, Olango and the Camotes Islands. Cebu has narrow coastlines, limestone plateaus and coastal plains. It also has rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges traversing the northern and southern lengths of the island. Cebu's highest mountains are over 1000 meters high. Flat tracts of land can be found in the towns of Bogo, San Remigio, Medellin and Daanbantayan at the northern region of the province. Its capital is Cebu City, the oldest city in the Philippines which forms part of the Cebu Metropolitan Area together with four neighbouring cities which include Danao City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City and Talisay City and eight other municipalities. Mactan-Cebu International Airport, located in Mactan island, is the second busiest airport in the Philippines. more about Cebu here

Our small beach located near the house. I hope we can develop it next time.

Skywatching in Kallmuenz Castle

It's TGIF again! Thanks God it's Friday! I know that a lot of workers who have off during weekends are happy again. They can have time with their family or friends during these days. They can go for a weekend trip maybe, go dining out or maybe grilling in the garden. Today was a perfect day for grilling but we have to take care of some things today.

On our way home tonight, we passed-by this castle ruins in Kallmuenz, a small town in Regensburg, Germany. Isn't it a good thing remembering what the people had done during those times especially in building architecture like this? I am always fascinated and I truly found this architecture very impressing. Here is the picture I took from Kallmuenz Castle Ruins.

Yellow Narcissus in Our Garden

I don't have the desire to go online and do blogging for some days. I am feeling always tired due to some work at home and doing some errands. I am quite having a headache at this moment. That is also the reason why I am quite late with my memes. I apologize for that. I am finally sharing these beautiful Narcissus from our garden. They are gone now but I am happy that I kept some pictures from them. I took this image last month. Did you see some red lights from my car and the red tulips too? Have a great day to all!

Tulips from Our Garden and The Castle Tower

What a busy day we had today. I helped hubby again installed three windows today. It is quite dusty because we have to dismantle the old windows to put the new ones. Week by week we are doing it until it is finish. I asked hubby how old those windows are. He said that it is already in the house since he bought the house sometime in the '80s. I was kidding him that maybe it is already a century old. Anyway, I am sharing somes tulips from our little Keukenhof garden and the castle tower that is located just adjacent to our garden. An honor to live near the castle ruins.
