A Day Trip in Montserrat, Spain

It was so far a nice trip seeing of the famous sighs in Spain. I was invited by some friends to go with a group  trip  going to Spain. It was  bus trip and was quite  tiresome due to the very long travel time. Since I was soy eager to visit Barcelona last summer 2012, I  ended up saying yes to friends.

It was already my third visit in this country but my first time in Barcelona. That 4-day trip was fun and terrific. One of the sidetrips we made was visiting Montserrat. From our hotel in Callela, it took us over one hour to reach Montserrat.

This multi-peaked mountain located near Barcelona, Spain is truly a must to see when you are in this city. It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some  with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth.

We also had the chance to go inside the Basilica.

A Visit to Vatican City

It was summer 2010 when I had the chance to visit Rome. Together with Nonna, a friend from the U.S., we also visited Vatican City and landed in St. Peter's Square, the famous square in Vatican. Piazza San Pietro, as it is called in Italian, is located directly in front of St. Peter's Basilica.

We also had the chance to climb to the cupola of the Basilica. To reach the cupola, one must to climb 320 steps after taking the elevator. People especially the elderly who have ailments and heart problems must be aware of this. We had a great experience as we visited this part of Rome.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Paris

This is the The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica. This was taken in August 2010 during my second visit in Paris, France. It is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France.

I am letting you know that taking pictures are forbidden inside the Basilica.

It is a popular landmark of Paris. The basilica is located at the summit of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city. is built of travertine stone quarried in Château-Landon (Seine-et-Marne), France. This stone constantly exudes calcite, which ensures that the basilica remains white even with weathering and pollution.

Escapades at Regensburg, Germany

The weather yesterday was quite unpredictable. I don't want to stand up from my bed but I have too..The weather outside was quite cold.. A friend will be going with me in Regensburg to buy some Philippine foods...Actually I am craving for Phil. sardines.. I brought four last time from Las Vegas but I gave away two to a former friend. That was quite a chilly day. We went a bit walking in the old city and once again enjoyed the place, its old historical buildings, the churches around the old city and different shopping stores. We went home early since I still have to go a little bit grocery shopping in Parsberg. Please visit my Euroangel's Exploring Germany blog for more pictures from Regensburg..thanks a lot!!
