It was truly overwhelming. My facebook wall was flooded with birthday greetings and wishes during my natal day. I truly felt special and loved that day. Thanks to all my friends, former classmates, neighbors and family for all your wonderful words.  Thanks to friends for their birthday presents. I am happy with the large plush toys, fossil wallet, nine west bag and other gifts you gave me. Thank also to my dear husband who is  always there for me. Most of all, I am thankful to our dear God for giving me another wonderful year  in  my life. I am hoping for more and more good and bountiful years to come.

I Love Insel Mainau in Germany

I finally visited Insel Mainau (Mainau Island). This island is famous for its gardens with  lovely flowers of all kinds. It is known as the Blumeninsel of Flower Island. It is an island in Bodensee or Lake Constance. Since I am a number one fan of flowers, I truly fall in love with this place. It made me crazy for a bit seeing all those beauty of nature in the whole island thru the different flowers and trees. Simply amazing!

I told hubby that  it is fine for me to live in this place. I find it a paradise. The long bus ride that we had that time was fully paid-off.  The weather was also perfect. I was quite hot  during our visit  that you need to drink a lot of water when you walk around the island to avoid dehydration.

I love all the flowers  on this island. Insel Mainau is a paradise for me. I love it there.

6 Must-Do Outdoor Activities in Canada

Canada is known for its cold winters, pristine landscape and variety of outdoor activities to keep even the most adventurous traveller busy. Canada's wilderness is usually accessed via aeroplane or through long drives into the countryside.

One of the must-do activities for the nature lover is whale watching off the Victoria coast. Orcas are frequently found in these waters and offer a magnificent spectacle not to be missed. There are many tours are organised by a variety of agencies, and some even offer aeroplane flights on a seaplane from the major city of Vancouver.

Canada is known for its amazing glaciers and there are many tours that traverse these glaciers. The most popular locales in the Columbia Ice fields include Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, Peyto Lake and Mistaya Canyon. It's worth joining a tour group if you want to learn more about the history and geography of the region, as well as taking in the splendid views.

For those who want a bit more excitement, Canada also has spectacular white-water rafting opportunities in British Columbia. The season usually lasts from June to September in the south, while the north the season peaks in July/August. Arctic rafting is also popular, and is predominantly done during the summer. Rafting down the Alesk river provides ample opportunity for animal watching, with sightings of grizzly bear, wolverine and arctic fox almost guaranteed.

Cycling is a popular activity in southern Quebec. There are over 4000km of bicycle paths and routes on the "La Route Verte" passing through plains and farmland as well as the Appalachian mountains. Most cyclists plan their season in summer, where there is less rainfall and the weather is milder than in winter.

Vancouver Island offers prime hiking routes in the West Coast Trail, a 76km route that traverses coastline, bridges and ladders. The route takes three weeks to complete and registration is essential. The trail is open from May to September and stormy weather is to be expected. The rest of Canada offers many other hiking trails which are worth investigating.

One cannot consider visiting Canada without going skiing, and British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec provide ample opportunity. Whistler is the most popular resort, catering to both novices and experts. Kicking Horse in the Rockies is great for people looking for a challenge since the snow is powdery and dry. The Sunshine Village in Alberta is known for having longest season.

If thinking about flying to Canada to see these magnificent sights then why not save money on flights by cutting the cost while you shop? The Aeroplan rewards program from Amex allows you to save for flights while paying for other things you love.

This Nude Woman Statue in front of Birmingham's Council House

It is almost four years now since I visited England. One of the cities showed to me by a friend was Birmingham. I guess I see almost all of the sights in this city. Thanks to a good friend who toured me there.

What caught my attention during our visit in Victoria Square was this nude woman sculpture. It is actually located in front of Birmingham's Council House. This garganuan nude woman is located on the the top pool of the fountain. This sculpture was made by Dhruva Mistry RA in 1993 and is made of bronze.

A Job to Remember

I guess those workers or employees who are working in a reputable company are really  proud of their jobs. I believed I am the same. I had the chance to work before in one of the top trier banks in my home country. Due to change of residence, I left my job as a banker. I miss those days when I was wearing work uniforms everyday. It was quite a tough job because you are dealing with numbers. I was always happy and contented  at  the end of the day when I  balanced  the over-all transactions of the bank, thus producing a perfect work sheet and financial statements.

Honestly, I miss  my job as Branch Operation Assistant sometimes.  Being a  previous employee of one of the most  prestigious bank in the Philippines, I always feel  proud of it.

The Seville Cathedral in Seville, Andalusia

One of the cities we visited in the region of Andalusia in Spain was Seville. I love this city although we did not really explored all of the sights there. A day sightseeing is not enough to see everything especially when visiting a big city like Seville. This city is the lovely capital of Andalusia region.

One of the sights we visited was the Seville Cathedral. Our tour inside was already included in our 7-day trip to Spain. It is known as the Cathedral of St. Mary of the See or Catedral de Santa MarĂa de la Sede in Spanish. It claimed to be the third largest church in the world and the largest Gothic Cathedral as well.

It was a great feeling for me seeing wondrous and historical architecture like this. I was truly amazed by this building.

A Memorable Party!

I was browsing some photos from my birthday celebration last year. It was truly a memorable day for me. Everyone had fun especially during the singing and karaoke part. Next time, I guess I need a recording studio furniture to make it more memorable. I would really love to have one since I also love singing.

The sumptuous foods prepared during that party were very delicious. Thanks to my dear friends who made that celebration successful. Thanks also to the visitors that despite of their busy schedule, they made it to my birthday party.I don't have much time to

My birthday cake last year. Thanks Nadette for this.
Due to some unavoidable circumstances and change of plan,  my  birthday party for this year will be held sometime in October.  It was rescheduled because  I don't have much time to prepare for it since I will be flying to the US soon. See you guys in  October!

Passau, A European City

Passau, Passau! I am trying to remember how many times did I already visited this city. I got it now! I was there for the fourth time last summer 2010. I also had the chance to always pass this city for a lot of times. Passau is truly a European city and I always  love visiting  it.

It is famous for the name,  "The Three River City" or known as  "DreiflĂ¼ssestadt" because the Danube is joined at Passau by the Inn from the south and the Ilz from the north. What I love most in this city is its  Cathedral known as  the St. Stephen's Dom. I love its architecture especially its interior.

Just sharing these snapshots I took   during my last visit in August 2010.

I wish everyone a great month of August 2012! Cheers!
